Warning: Some of the links below to files various are internal links, some are external. Bookmark this page now if you don't want to lose track of it. If you happen to click a link that is a link external to this website, you will not find a link on the pages found, back to this page. Meantime, this list is still incomplete and you may get a "404 - page not found" message here. If so, the hyperlinking problem should be fixed soon as more files are added to this website. -Ed

Please note: In particular, the directory for After 1800 now contains three files listing genealogies for selected Lord Mayors of London - The contents of which can be used as bridging material and will be handy as prompts for further netsurfing -  Ed.

Periods/Timeframes - an explanation of files presented here

For Period: Before 1775

For Period: After 1775

For Period: After 1800

Follows a file listing grouped in tabular form in two ways - numerically by date, and alphabetically by merchant surname or other topic designation.

The Merchant Networks filing system is designed to be multi-level on a drill-down basis. The first level (eg., the level for the index or home page), will present explanatory and introductory material.

Level two (periods/timefames) will in time present various material (precis, essays, articles, etc.), categorised on an alpha-numeric basis which should be clear from listings of the files of this website. (See the navigation bars, various.)

Level three, when it appears, will be for items submitted by contributors. We also see no reason why material from an out-of-copyright book cannot be lodged on this website.
But whether there will be picture-galleries, we have not yet considered. Since the website is constructed mainly with the use of Dreameaver MX, software which can quickly produce an organised graphics gallery, there is no reason why a picture gallery could not appear in due course. - Ed
