2. Clerk Privy Council Povey John-489178 (Progenitor ) was born about 1530. He died in 1611.

He is noted in an item for Pepys Diary is a Citizen and Embroiderer of London and if so may have married wife1 Alice Hyard dead by 1553.

John married Hobson Elizabeth-489179 daughter of Hobson Robert-489180 and HNotknown Cicely-489181. Elizabeth was born about 1535. She died in 1582 in Greyfriars Newgate London.

They had the following children:
