2. Of Lees House, Berwickshire, wine merchant at Bordeaux Marjoribanks Edward-45154 (Progenitor ) was born in 1738. He died in 1815.

Lees is on the River Tweed. Does bipolar disorder (manic-depression) run in this family? He has a "violent and excitable temper, amounting almost to madness at times". He is a friend of Thomas Coutts "the true founder" of Coutts Bank. Stenton, Brit Partls, Vol. 1, p. 260. From http series of The Marjoribanks Journal, eg, No. 2, January 1994. This man may possibly have a son Sir John, Bart Captain and Provost of Edinburgh.
